The "Marketplace" is an innovative model of public - private partnership. It provides a forum where companies, volunteer organizations and local authorities can meet and build partnerships, matching their supply and demand. Marketplaces function comparably to stock exchanges: supplies and demands are formulated beforehand and in the framework of a short, dynamic and public event (that lasts usually not more than 1,5 hour), brokers try to match these. The English Toolkit is developed by initiators Movisie, ABN AMRO Foundation and KPMG (until 2012).
